Labour's Māori MPs say Māori will benefit hugely from the budget, especially from the families package that aims to help with bread and butter issues.

In winter, the elderly feel the rise of the cold and also feel the rise of their power bills, but they may just suffer a little fewer thanks to the new budget through the Winter Energy Payment  which starts in July.

$1.2 billion will go to the Families Package over four years to help whānau with accommodation supplements, winter energy payments, and other family-based benefits.
