Weather wreaks havoc across NZ
Three tornadoes hit parts of the North Island today as severe weather wreaks havoc around the country.
Power was cut to more than 12,000 from Whanganui to Taranaki due to the tornadoes and heavy rain.
At Tongariro National Park, a tornado caused serious damage to this house.
In the South Island, the foul weather caused mass road closures.
Schools were closed and numerous flights were cancelled.
There was also a heavy dumping of snow in many parts of the mainland.
