The Warriors have named their squad for the opening round of the NRL.

A young Māori is poised to play his first game in the top grade, while a number of more established players will debut for the Warriors.

Stephen Kearney has named his starting line-up for Saturdays NRL opener against the Rabbitohs in Perth.

There are seven new faces but the most of them are experienced NRL quality players.

Furthermore, Māori Sam Cook from Ngāti Porou will make his NRL debut off the bench.

There is a big challenge ahead of the Warriors as the best fullback in the game; Greg Inglis has returned to the Rabbitohs following a leg injury suffered at last year’s opening game.

9 pm on Saturday will be crunch time as to whether the team can show improvement.

Line-up: Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Peta Hiku, David Fusitu'a, James Gavet, Ken Maumalo, Isaiah Papali'i, Shaun Johnson, Solomone Kata, Issac Luke, Ligi Sao, Blake Green, Tohu Harris, Adam Blair.
