Train negotiations are underway for proposed train staff cuts
Negotiations are underway to determine the outcome of industrial action by Auckland train workers.
The Rail and Maritime Transport Union is meeting with Transdev and Auckland Transport to negotiate on proposals to cut staff from commuter trains.
Transdev Managing Director, Michel Ladrak says if an agreement isn't reached union members may take full day strikes.
“I want the resolution today and if we don't get a resolution today I will be inviting them again for tomorrow, and for Friday and for the Monday after until we sort this.”
The current overtime ban has left rush hour trains running every 20 minutes instead of every ten.
