After months of fundraising and saving, a small kura kaupapa Māori has sent five lucky students to meet with other indigenous youth at a world conference in Norway.

The tauira from Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kura Kōkiri, based in Tauranga, have never visited Scandinavia before, but they are looking forward to meeting other kids growing up in an indigenous setting.

The group of young women and teachers have been preparing for their trip all year where they will attend the World Indigenous Nations Higher Education Consortium in Norway.

They'll be there for two weeks before returning home.
