The Tall Ferns have been named for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

The team features Charlisse Leger-Walker, a young Māori prospect and one 16-year-old from Te Whakatōhea carrying on a family legacy.

She is just 16, but the Tall Ferns Assistant Coach believes she has potential and could not be ignored.

The announcement is no shock to the ones in the know as she has a last name that's famous in the basketball community; her sister and mother have both represented NZ on the basketball court.

The Commonwealth Games is the short-term goal, but the long-term goal is to gain a scholarship to play college ball in America, but first, she has to finish her school exams.
