The Springboks' first ever Black captain Siya Kolisi says he wants to inspire all South Africans, not just those in the Black communities.

The 26-year-old is the first Black South African to captain the Springboks in an official test.

Kolisi also spoke out against those who believe his appointment is purely for political reasons.

“I’m a rugby player, all I want to do is do well and play well and inspire not only Black people but South Africa [as a whole].

“I’m not only [re]presenting one group, it’s everybody.”

Kolisi will lead the Boks out for the first time next month for their home series against England.
