Sam Nock looks to solidify position in upcoming game
The Blues are preparing to get their season back on track against the Sharks this weekend.
With a number of top-flight players sidelined with an injury, Coach Tana Umaga is banking on young guns like Ngāpuhi's Sam Nock to carry the team forward.
Since Augustine Pulu's leg injury three weeks ago, Nock has found a lot of time in the Blues.
He says that the goal now is to solidify his spot.
“It’s definitely given me an opportunity, I just need to make the most of it and just do my thing really.”
But he's more than just filler, Nock played for the U20 All Blacks and his goal is to play in the Māori All Blacks jersey in the next couple of years.
“Māori jersey, that was always one of my dreams growing up - that Māori jersey that would be unreal if I could get to that.”
The next challenge has presented itself with the Sharks this weekend.
The Blues have only won one of the past four and are starting to feel like pressures of Super Rugby.
Kick-off is at 7:30 Saturday night at Eden Park.
