The Prime Minister has revealed more about the days after she discovered she was pregnant with her first child.

Alongside her partner Clarke Gayford, Jacinda Ardern joked about the timing of the news, which had been kept a secret until last week.

The Labour leader was in the midst of coalition talks with Winston Peters when she learned she was expecting.

“A week before Winston Peters made his announcement around who he would form a government with, so the middle of those intense negotiations. I can tell you that at that time the first thought that went through my mind was - this is amazing timing. That was not my first thought!"

The PM is due in June.
