Pipi Mā: Te Pakiwaituhi hits the big screen
The first Māori speaking dolls hit the big screen yesterday.
The event was the premiere of Pipi Mā: Te Pakiwaituhi.
Kristin Ross and Hohepa Tuahine brought us the first Māori speaking dolls, but a cartoon was always the goal to provide their Māori speaking kids with Māori role models.
The cartoon voices were provided by Hinehui Tuahine, Tamatea Te Moni, Niwa Hiini and Atareta Milne who were all raised in Māori speaking homes.
The cartoon will be available to watch online on 23 April.
