Fifteen athletes have been named in the New Zealand athletics team for the Commonwealth Games including superstar, Dame Valerie Adams.

Adams has been on maternity duty the past four months and has only just returned to training.

But she believes she'll be fit and ready for the games.

“You can’t replace experience. All I know every time it comes to training I am ready because I can’t spend all day and night doing it. I’ve got to train, pump mink, train again and shoot back home to my baby.”

The full New Zealand team is expected to be announced in mid -March.
