As the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern prepares to have her first child, her workplace, the New Zealand Parliament is aiming to become more family friendly with the addition of a new playground.

The play space will be located on the front lawn in the hope it will encourage more people to visit and make the experience more enjoyable.

The design hasn't yet been finalised but the Speaker of the House Trevor Mallard says space will use natural materials to blend in with the surroundings and will reflect the significance of the location.
