A strong seven-member squash team was named today for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

A Māori doubles combo is part of the team and they're no strangers to the podium.

Veterans Joelle King and Amanda Landers-Murphy will represent New Zealand in the Women’s Doubles.

The pair are no strangers to the Commonwealth Games.

They won gold at the last year's squash championships and yesterday Joelle King took out the Cleveland Championships in the USA.

It’s no surprises then that two are medal favourites; no doubt will see them on the podium.

Evan Williams from the East Coast has been picked for the team.

He currently places 100th in the singles but in the doubles, he and his partner are ranked 10th in the world.

The squash side of the Commonwealth Games starts on the 5th of April.
