New web series 'Fierce Girls' empowers indigenous girls
The creators of a new international online series want to challenge the way young indigenous women see themselves.
The 30 episode video series 'Fierce Girls' tells the story of indigenous girls from Canada and New Zealand who heal the world using superpowers gifted to them by their ancestors.
It also shows their new powers and how they want to use it to help the world.
Most of the creative team are from Rotorua, over 20 of them being Māori.
The series will launch June 21.
