A member's bill that would require broadcasting commissions to publish ratings has been drawn from the ballot.

The Broadcasting (New Zealand on Air and Te Māngai Pāho Reporting Requirements) Amendment Bill, supported by National MP Melissa Lee, would require New Zealand On Air and Te Māngai Pāho to publish quarterly reports that show the viewership of every project they fund.

This bill comes off the back of Te Māngai Pāho setting up a Māori media industry group tasked with implementing a new strategy to strengthen viewership of Māori content across all media.
