Miss World arrives in NZ
The current Miss World Manushi Chhillar has just arrived in the country and was welcomed in to the country with a pōwhiri.
The beauty queen is known for walking on a catwalk, however she's left that behind and is here to make a stance with the 'Beauty with a Purpose' mission.
Chhillar is a champion advocate on Feminine Hygiene in India, which is a taboo topic their.
She says it's also important to champion indigenous issues as well.
"We went into the Amazon and we met the Indians to speak about leprosy and spread more awareness. Most of the problems that they face are just due to lack of awareness it's one small bridge as Miss World you're able to spread the awareness."
The visitors will be in Auckland till Thursday and afterwards will carry on with their world tour.
