Memorial held in memory of Christchurch earthquake
Seven years ago yesterday, Christchurch was hit by the devastating earthquake that claimed the lives of 185 people.
A national memorial was held to commemorate the 6.3 magnitude quake which caused massive loss of life and widespread destruction.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister reconfirmed her commitment to Canterbury children suffering from the quakes, by announcing the first step of the government’s new mental health plan for schools.
That will see a $28m programme rolled out over the next three years.
