The international Tag20 competition is well underway and Māori talent is out in full force playing for local national, Māori and Australian sides.

Tag players have gathered in Auckland for the Tag20 nation’s cup with nine nations competing, with over 300 players and Māori galore in the Australian team.

The teams were welcomed by the NZ Māori with a haka and felt the ihi and the wehi that they hope to take with them to the field.

It’s a game that is still growing here but it’s a game that is loved by Māori living in Australia.

The competition will continue to the end of the weekend.
