Māori artist Rei releases his EP set later on this week.

The emergency artist says he’s on a mission to eliminate the stigma around hip hop and help revitalise te reo Māori as well.

“It’s about creating another space where its sweet to speak te reo Māori. So why not hip-hop, why not my kind of music? Also for rangatahi, rangatahi listen to hip-hop a lot.”

The self-taught producer and singer say the main objective of this ep is to encourage our youth to stand and think with nobility within their Māoritanga.

Whilst creating his new music this busy bee has also been producing a new song with familiar faces Maimoa music.

On April 20 the Rangatira EP launches.
