Lisa Carrington’s has excelled at Olympics and World Championships and the other night she was awarded the Sportswoman of the Year for the second year running at the prestigious Halberg Awards.

She's says she’s been racing her canoe to new places for near on 10 years but, it seems, she won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

“There's plenty to grow on and I think we're in a really privileged position that we've got some amazing athletes coming through or that are here right now so I think we're really lucky to be able to utilize that and work together and be an amazing kayak team to take on the world.”

Lisa Carrington now turns her canoe’s nose to the National Competition at the end of this month.
