Kiwi boxer Joseph Parker addressed the controversy around a Pasifika and Māori only event for boys at a Whanganui school. Parker said although he supported inspiring Pasifika and Māori youth he wanted the event to be more inclusive.

“I can see where they were coming from.

“Like David mentioned for us, if we go down to see the kids, we’d like to see everyone.

“Some of them might be aspiring to be a boxer or might be motivated by something that I might be able to say.

“I feel like everyone should be involved.”

Joseph Parker's camp has also confirmed the Kiwi boxer won't appeal his defeat to Dillian Whyte. Parker was knocked down by a head butt in the second that wasn't spotted by officials.
