Inflations in education costs is being reflected in research
A survey undertaken by the Australian Scholarships Group (ASG) estimates the costs of sending a child born in 2018 to a public school will cost approximately $38,000 over a child’s school career.
Whilst there has been a small drop in the cost of sending a child to state schooling there was a dramatic increase for those sending their children to private schools of nearly $14,000 to $360,000.
Sending a child to integrated Catholic schools, however, saw a decrease of approximately $6,000 to $100,000.
ASG's research showed the cost of a public education had increased about 13% over the last decade which was out of sync with the Reserve Bank figures which show inflation grew by 18% over that same period.
