Govt plan to create thousands of construction jobs
Faced with a national shortage of houses, the government says there are tens of thousands of construction jobs on offer.
The government has an ambitious plan to create more jobs in the construction industry.
But, in order to fill those roles, the government will be attracting workers from overseas with changes in immigration to support Kiwibuild.
There are 30,000 jobs available in the building industry.
Immigration Minister Iain Lees-Galloway says although the plan is bringing in people from overseas, however, New Zealanders won't be overlooked.
