The All Black Sevens arrived back home yesterday and like their female counterparts, they return with a world title after a successful defence in San Francisco.

The All Blacks defeated England in the final.

However, Ngāpuhi players Kurt Baker and Trael Joass are centre stage following the team's photo going viral.

But for a newcomer, Joass says he was blessed to be a part of the team as in 2014, he had heart problems.

“Four years ago I couldn't do anything, but it (heart problems) taught me that hard times don't last forever. You've got two choices, let it overtake your life or you just be a better man from it.”

Joass will join with newly signed team Bay of Plenty, Mitre 10 Cup and will join back the rest of the AB's Sevens team after a restful six weeks.
