Abortion Law Reform currently being argued in parliament
Another significant law change started being debated in parliament yesterday.
The government want to take abortion out of the Crimes Act.
Abortion Law Reform became an election issue last year when Jacinda Ardern stated in a leader's debate she would shift abortion out of the Crimes Act, where it has been since 1977.
Currently, an abortion can only be performed if it is approved by two certifying consultants and the pregnancy is less than 20 weeks old.
