We sat down with fan favourite and all-round nice guy, Sala. Here's what he had to say about the game, and his time on the show.
1. Who are you picking to win?
Just going from the last few episodes, there’s some really strong competitors there.
And Tom, he’s showing how strong he really is.
But I really wanted that guy Sala… I was picking him, but I think he’s picking his nose at the moment.
2. Who do you think will be the next eliminated?
I really don’t know.
Just going off what we’ve seen before, anything can happen.
They could see Barb as a threat straightaway, and chuck her in the Lion’s Den. Or they might do the same to Shannon.
Or they might stick to what they said, and get rid of the other nice guy, Mr. Avi.
You’ll have to wait and see.
3. Who's the funniest Survivor?
That’s a tough one, there’s a few funny guys there.
Nate’s a bit of a funny guy.
Jak’s funny as. But then, I wanna hug him but I wanna slap him as well.
But I think for me personally, it’d probably be Shay. She’s got that natural Polynesian humour, we just kicked it off from the word go.
We just have our own little mocking sessions, we sit there and just laugh.
4. Who's the nicest?
In my opinion they’re all nice, straight up.
Only a part of them have been shown on national TV, but I’ve got to know all of them. They’re all nice.
But to answer your question, both Avi and Shay are the nicest ones.
5. When you were filming the show, what surprised you the most?
That I was able to last majority of the competition with no food.
I was surprised that I was all good. I thought I’d be hangry from Day 2, and eat someone’s leg. But I was sweet as.
It would have helped though, if I ate someone’s leg. You know Nate’s leg looked pretty juicy, meaty. Him and Jak’s.
But the hardest thing was definitely home sickness.
6. What about watching it on TV, has anything really surprised you?
Yeah, the conversations.
We were all aware that there would be conversations that we’d have behind the scenes. But you’re never prepared for it until you actually see it.
You’re like “wow, I had no idea.”
I was prepared for it, but not prepared for it, if that makes sense. That was full on.
7. Did you get used to seeing yourself on TV?
It was weird aye!
I ended up watching it like it was a another character. Like an out of body experience. Like “that’s not actually me, that’s actually someone pretty cool.”
It’s still weird now, watching it.
8. If you could do it all again, would you do anything differently?
I probably wouldn’t do anything differently, I don’t know if I can.
I would do it all again, but I don’t know if my wife would let me go this time round.
