First to win, first to go
The blindside nobody saw coming.
The cut-throat game of Survivor New Zealand has well and truly begun.
Last night the castaways eliminated one of the strongest players in the competition, right off the bat.
Jose, the youngest female contestant, became the game’s first blindside.
Six out of the nine votes at Tribal Council went her way.
She was voted out by the very team she had handpicked after winning the game’s first Reward Challenge.
Find out Chani's reasons for voting out Jose, right here.
Looking back on her shock exit Jose said, “to say my elimination was ruthlessly unexpected is the understatement of the century. I thought I understood the intricacies of the game and that my performance would keep me safe at least at the start, but my tribe had a different plan in mind.”

This season’s castaways are already proving they’re more brutal than the last, with strategic gameplay and punches already thrown.
Everyone is out to fight for the $250K on the line.
Survivor New Zealand continues Sundays at 7pm on TVNZ 2. Stream the latest episodes right here.
