At 20 years old, Luke Chivers began eating – and then starving – himself to death. Bulimia had trapped him in an endless cycle of binging and purging. The illness is usually associated with women but Kiwi men are suffering too. Luke speaks to SUNDAY, hoping to break the stigma and silence around the disorder. Plus, he meets international rugby referee Nigel Owens, whose off-the-field battle with bulimia has lasted for three decades.
