Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Dunedin in the South Island.
How long have you been acting and how did you get your first big break?
I have been acting on and off for 5 years. I auditioned for the role of Dion Tai in 2017 and managed to secure the role!
What has been your best experience/scene on the show to date?
Scene highlight was when Dion meets Jack at reception.
Which other character would you like to play and why?
I’d love to play Finn! He possesses a fierce confidence in himself and fights for himself even when he's wrong.
If you weren’t an actor, what would you be?
I would be a policeman.
What is your favourite place to travel?
My favourite place to travel is back to my hometown Dunedin as my family and old friends are there.
What star sign are you, and do you believe in horoscopes?
I am a Virgo. Yes, I do believe in horoscopes!
Do you have any pets?
I have a dog! She is a Jack Russell. Her name is Lucy.
Who is the actor or actress that you were most excited to work with?
I was excited to work with an old drama school friend, Jayden Daniels.
What would be your last meal if you were on death row? Anything you want.
It would have to be Pizza!!!
What is your favourite film of all time, and why?
My favourite film is The Lion King! The film represents passion for people and standing up for what you believe in.
Are you from Auckland or did you move here to film Shortland Street? Where did you grow up?
I am originally from Dunedin but moved up to film.
Which other actors/actresses do you hang out with most between takes?
I mainly hang with Jayden or some of the crew.
What’s the best experience you’ve had with a fan/fans?
When other Samoans ask me if I'm Samaon and they are happy we are from the same country!
What’s the strangest experience you’ve had with a fan/fans?
I was at the supermarket and someone yelled out “Dion I love you” and everybody stopped and looked at me.
Can you remember your first day on Shortland Street – what was it like?
I remember I was super nervous, I just wanted to do a good job. It felt strange working on a show you grew up watching as a kid!
