South African born beauty Kerry-Lee Dewing, who plays bubbly newcomer nurse Kylie Brown, has been performing since she could talk. She is in her element whether she is dancing or acting.
Before landing her role on Shortland Street, the sporty blonde starred in the television movie Kia Tangata Twitchand participated in local theatre productions.
Just as her on-screen character Kylie experienced nerves during her first shift at the hospital, Kerry-Lee confesses to being a bit jittery while filming her first scenes. However she soon started to relax and has enjoyed shooting scenes alongside Teuila Blakey, Brooke Williams and fellow newcomer, Amy Usherwood whom she now counts as her close friend.
When she is not on-set or learning lines, Kerry-Lee is a keen snowboarder, and enjoys Bikram yoga, as well as cooking and indulging her self-confessed ‘serious sweet tooth’.
She has a passion for musicals, adoring The Sound of Music and names Anthony Hopkins as her favourite actor.
