Where did you grow up?
I was born in Jindabyne - a small town in the snowy mountains in Australia but moved to Queenstown and was lucky enough to grow up there!
How long have you been acting and how did you get your first big break?
I moved to Auckland in 2012 to train at the drama school The Actors Program. It was through this school I also met my good friend Jess Sayer and my fiancé Emmett Skilton and together we created the comedy web series, Auckward Love, which was my first big break into the industry!
Name three similarities between you and your onscreen character.
We’re both from Queenstown, We both have lots of siblings and we both are……or have been…. engaged
What has been your best experience/scene on the show to date?
My best experience was shooting one of my first scenes with Damo (Grant) and Chris (Michael). They both embraced my very gullible side, Michael telling me the producers want you to use HEAPS of big facials and Grant told me he hates it when people touch him in scenes - when they finally revealed they were joking, it relaxed me completely and I felt part of the family!
Which other character would you like to play and why?
Leanne or Damo, because they’re the perfect combination of Crazy and Cool.
If you weren’t an actor, what would you be?
A painter. I already do this as a hobby, holding exhibitions every few years, but I would love to escape to New York and spent a year painting there one day.
What is your favourite place to travel?
What star sign are you, and do you believe in horoscopes?
Sagittarius - I avoid horoscopes because I believe in them TOO much
Do you have any pets?
Kind of, my little brother stays sometimes. He’s nineteen.
Who is the actor or actress that you were most excited to work with?
Laurel Devenie. When I was studying at drama school, I went and watched Laurel in A Midsummer Nights Dream at a theatre in Auckland - she was so memorable.
What has been your favorite scene to film in your time at Shortland Street?
A scene with Dawn and a donut.
What would be your last meal if you were on death row?
Pasta, with lots of butter and cheese.
What is your favourite film of all time, and why?
Practical Magic, because I’ve always wanted to be a witch!
What’s the best experience you’ve had with a fan/fans?
My first ever fan! She recognised me from Auckward Love in a mall and wanted a picture with me.
What’s the strangest experience you’ve had with a fan/fans?
When someone mistook me for Kate Hudson…. I’m not her.
Can you remember your first day on Shortland Street – what was it like?
It was like the first day of school - I was buzzing with nerves and excitement... and really hoped I wouldn’t have to sit by myself for lunch.
