Ashley Light - Chef de Mission
Ashley Light is New Zealand’s Chef de Mission for the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games Team.
Light served as Chef de Mission for the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, where the New Zealand team brought home a silver medal, won by sit skier Corey Peters.
He has attended three Winter Olympics and two Paralympic Games.
At the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, he supported the Wheel Blacks team that went on to take home the gold medal.
Light is also the Director of High Performance at Snow Sports NZ. He became involved in snow sports as the manager of the Winter Performance Programme in 2008 and he brings to the table a wealth of experience in high performance sport.
Originally hailing from the UK, Light now lives in Queenstown and is a passionate sportsman. He is keen on skiing (snow and water), rugby and long-distance mountain biking.
