Lucy Suttor (Frankie) and Beth Alexander (Liv).

In 2017, Oddly Even was voted the winner of TVNZ's inaugural New Blood Web Series Competition

The idea was brough to life by  by Auckland filmmakers, Ashleigh Reid and Isla MacLeod.

Oddly Even's pilot episode was viewed over 8,000 times on YouTube last year, and it received 24% of the public vote.

The duo both work in the film and television industry and came up with the concept after meeting at the New Zealand Broadcasting School. They were excited about what this win would mean for them.

“As 22-year-olds, it would be at least another decade working our way up the industry ladder before we would be in a position making the creative decisions. Winning this competition gives us a platform to tell our stories now. Stories that are relatable to young Kiwis."

Ashleigh and Isla received $100,000 from TVNZ and NZ On Air to create a full web series, and now it's almost here!

The series  follows Liv (Beth Alexander), a do-gooder with a ten year life plan.

Not in the plan, is older sister Frankie (Lucy Suttor), who went overseas eight years ago and never came back.

Now she's on the doorstep with her suitcase. She has no job. No money. No explanation.

But Liv can't stop her from moving in... Frankie owns half the house...

The full season of Oddly Even will be available on TVNZ OnDemand from Thursday 17 May.
