The final 2 teams, Heather & Mitch and Chris & Bex.

Battling for the title (and $100,000) are Wanaka sweethearts Chris & Bex, and no-nonsense foodie friends, Heather & Mitch from Christchurch.

Both teams have had a solid performance in the competition so far, receiving high praise from the judges, and outshining the other teams with their culinary skills.

There’s no doubt they both deserve to be there.

The Grand Final will see them dishing up 4 courses each, for a full house at Auckland’s stunning Gusto restaurant.

On the judging panel alongside Pete & Manu will be celebrity chefs Nadia Lim, Sean Connolly, Ray McVinnie and Tom Hishon.

It all comes down to this!

Heather & Mitch entered the competition with guns blazing.

They were confident, and open with their opinions at the table. When it came to scoring the other teams, they were harsh but fair.

When it was their turn to host an Instant Restaurant, they proved their talents despite some minor disasters in the kitchen.

In Sudden Death, Heather & Mitch were up against Auckland buddies Jaryd & Ben. They claimed that they could have done better, but beat the boys by a landslide regardless.

Chris & Bex on the other hand were more reserved. So their impressive fine-dining approach came as something of a surprise.

They wowed the judges with their chicken liver parfait, and earned a respectable spot on the leaderboard.

Chris & Bex were also on the chopping block in Sudden Death, but managed to beat Tash & Hera by a two-point margin.

In the semi-final, both duos impressed the judges and the public alike.

They successfully produced a three course dinner for 80 guests at a wedding.

Each team received a score of 18/20, earning them a well-deserved spot in the Final.

But there can only be one winner!
