Jess & Cindy - Dunedin
Foodie friends Jess and Cindy aren't here to make friends, they're here to win.
These women met two years ago when Jess and her family moved in to the neighbourhood.
Both married to dairy farmers, and with children at the same school, Jess and Cindy spend every weekend together - either at the rugby club, a dinner party or a school event.
Losing is not an option for these two. The motto in Cindy’s house is “If you’re not first, you’re last.”
They both call it how they see it and are not afraid to tell it how it is.
Jess and Cindy believe they back up their talk with skill and knowledge and they can’t wait to have Pete and Manu taste their dishes.
They have no doubt their food will make them winners, but in the pressure-cooker environment of the MKR NZ kitchen, how will they stack up against the competition?
Why did you apply for My Kitchen Rules New Zealand?
Jess: Because I love cooking and I know I am good at it. We are the best. Our food is the best. We’re here to kick some butt!
What’s the best thing about your cooking partner?
Jess: Cindy is up front and doesn’t take things to heart. You need to be tough in the kitchen and she is.
Cindy: Jess is honest and funny. She’s also got great attention to detail for plating (unlike me).
What’s your cooking philosophy?
Cindy: Full fat and full sugar!
What do you think your chances of winning My Kitchen Rules New Zealand are?
Jess: I definitely think we can win. We know our food and our flavours and love to push boundaries and push ourselves. We’re going to win.
