He plays a police officer in Liar, but Warren Brown found fame as a villain on a British soap
Before Brown began his career on screen he was a two-time World Champion Thai kickboxer. He trained for 10 years before he says he “stumbled into acting”.
His first TV role was in the British black comedy series Shameless, before landing the role of villain Andy Holt in Hollyoaks. Although he appeared charming at first, it was later revealed that Andy was a serial rapist.
Brown spent less than a year on the soap but was nominated for several awards at the 2006 British Soap Awards, including Best Villain and Most Spectacular Scene.
He then had roles in Grownups, Casualty and The Bill before co-starring with James Nesbitt in the three-part war drama Occupation.
Luther fans might also remember Brown as DS Ripley, the sidekick of Idris Elba’s DCI John Luther.
He appeared in the crime drama for three seasons before being killed off in an episode that shocked the show's fans.
In Liar, Brown plays police officer Tom Bailey and Laura’s long-term boyfriend who she has only recently split from.
They have a long history and are able to remain friends after their break-up.
After Laura tells Tom she has been raped, he uses his police contacts to find out more about Andrew even though it could jeopardise his career.
But is he keeping something from Laura?
