Ellen and her daughter Sophie were living in major clutter. Having downsized from a six bedroom home to a three bedroom home after a marriage break up, Ellen then lost both her brother and mother in quick succession. This mother and daughter duo were in desperate need of a fresh start and some help moving forward.

Melissa's vision for the downstairs 'music room' was to create a tranquil calming space with a sofa bed for guests, new cushions for the bay window and a space for Sophie to practice her music. Ellen's only request was that the collection of paua shells her brother had gifted to her from a diving expedition were incorporated into the new space. Dion built a custom frame to display these, along with an additional bookcase to showcase the family treasures, books and photos.

Fresh paint, new curtains and a major de-clutter and spruce up did wonders for this beautiful new space which will be a room both Ellen and Sophie can retreat to. We hope this room provides inspiration for more transformations throughout their home.

Sophie: "I want to spend all my time in here - the piano is here, all my books are on the shelves - it's so cool, I love it!"
