Kathryn's Hamptons inspired home
Spaces we transformed: Lounge / Dining
Kathryn bought her 1970's two-bedroom home two years ago, it's the middle of three units and she confesses she is overwhelmed by the amount of work to be done and doesn't have much natural DIY ability! Kathryn's friend Belinda says Kathryn's current home doesn't reflect her friend's personality - which is stylish and elegant.
Melissa chose to create a Hamptons inspired look in the living and dining area so Kathryn would have a home she could entertain in with pride. With a large open plan space it's important to create zones or areas for different activities. Melissa choose a stunning wide striped feature wall to define the lounge area and cleverly used some comfy outdoor furniture form The Warehouse which matched in perfectly with Kathryn's existing lounge suite. The feature light over the dining table helped create an intimate setting in the open area and the funky accessories (hello snazzy drinks trolley!) tied the whole look together.
"You've come in and you've given me inspiration and it's just going to be a great space," says Kathryn.
