Spaces transformed: Bathroom and laundry

When Keri’s dad passed away, his dying wish was for Keri to buy a home for her family. She and partner Gareth chose a magical spot, nestled in the bush of the Waitakere Ranges. Their hippy house has a distinct 1980’s vibe, and although it is filled with quirks, it is in desperate need of some TLC. It was a difficult decision as to which room most deserved a fresh start – but in the end the red bathroom with its cork flooring won out, and it only made sense to makeover the adjoining entrance come laundry space.

Instead of replacing the red bathtub, the team opted to have it sprayed white. Vinyl wallpaper works really well in wet spaces such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundries and Melissa chose an “oldie worldly” design by Resene to give the room some character. She also covered the dated cork tiles with new laminate flooring – a great cost effective way to change the whole look and feel of a room.

And we can’t forget that awesome Samsung AddWash Combo and the new sliding bench which covers the laundry sink – the entrance is now so stylish you wouldn’t know it doubles as a laundry!

“We are just so grateful. This is our home and we just want to say thank you to the team, you’ve gone above and beyond – you’ve blown our minds – it just means the world to us,” says Keri.
