For three years, Constable Kat Chapman was the cop Summer Bay relied on. However, her untimely death meant that there was a vacancy at the Station.

Enter, Constable Colby Thorne.

With handsome confidence and impeccable timing, Colby shows up just in time to save Mason from a brawl with the River Boys

Humbled by the small community and their loss, Colby knows he has some pretty big shoes to fill.

He’s already in the good books with the Summer Bay residents though. The ladies at the Diner welcome him with open arms, and he even earns a rare nod of approval from Alf Stewart

Colby reassures Jasmine that as long as he’s around, her scary stalker won’t get close. Rumours are the two newcomers will strike up a romance.

Colby introduces himself to the Police Sergeant.

The new constable breaks new ground in the hunt for Robbo, coming dangerously close to the Morgans’ hideout.

He also wastes no time in putting an argumentative Ash in his place (which is pretty satisfying given Ash’s recent wayward behaviour).

Rumours are Colby has a bit of a turbulent past, something that his character will have to come to terms with.

He’s also been snapped on set with the iconic “Blood and Sand” tattoo, which suggests a link to the River Boys gang.

Colby is played by Brisbane-born Tim Franklin, a newcomer to the spotlight.

“I can’t say I’m ready because I don’t know what to expect,” Tim laughs. “I’ll just take it as it comes.”

We’re excited to see what’s in store for the new cop in town!
