Plays Roo Stewart

Much loved, award-winning actress Georgie Parker joined the cast of Home and Away in 2010 as 'Roo' (Ruth) Stewart.

Georgie wanted to be a ballet dancer but she suffered from scoliosis, and her back could not handle the strains of dancing professionally.

She became a household name in Australia through her role in A Country Practice, and went on to star in Acropolis Now and Fire.

In 1998 Georgie starred in medical drama All Saints, cementing her status as an Australian television favorite.

Georgie was also a presenter on Play School with Kiwi Jay Laga'aia.

Georgie's theatre credits include the musical theatre production The Man from Snowy River, Scenes from a Separation, Chapter Two, Rhinestone Rex and Miss Monica.

For her television roles, Georgie has won seven Logie awards, including two Gold Logies.

"I’m thrilled to be... part of Home and Away," Georgie said. "Working with Ray is a joy. We have a fantastic time together. The whole cast and crew are wonderful."

Away from the screen, Georgie enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter Holly. It was her daughter's interest in Home and Away that helped to bring Georgie back to television acting.
