Kudrow was originally cast to play Roz Doyle in the 90s sitcom, Frasier. However, it didn’t feel right, and she gave up the role. 

She first appeared as Ursula Buffay on the NBC comedy Mad About You. Then the character of Phoebe, Ursula’s twin sister, was written for Friends.

She took home six Emmy nominations, including one win, for her role as Phoebe

During the 10-season run of Friends, Kudrow also appeared in Hollywood blockbusters Analyse This, Dr. Dolittle 2 and Happy Endings

Kudrow married a French advertising executive in 1995, and their son Julian was born in 1998. Her pregnancy was written into Friends, when Phoebe acted as a surrogate for her brother.  


Kudrow created, produced and starred in the HBO series The Comeback, which was cancelled after its first season. 

She’s also had guest roles in Cougar Town, BoJack Horseman, Angie Tribeca and Scandal.

She starred alongside Emma Stone in Easy A, and Emily Blunt in the recent thriller, The Girl on the Train.
