The original cast of ER: Where are they now?
A lot has changed since the hit medical drama went to air in 1994. Let's see what some of the stars are up to now.
Anthony Edwards (Mark Greene)
Edwards went from solving medical mysteries, to carrying out justice in Law and Order: True Crime. He also starred in the conspiracy drama Zero Hour, and featured in films such as Revenge of the Nerds and Planes.
Edwards was married to make-up Jeanine Lobell for 21 years, and they have a son and three daughters.
Julianna Margulies (Carol Hathaway)
After ER, Margulies was cast in a series of strong, pantsuit-wearing, no-nonsense roles. She starred in The Sopranos and Canterbury’s Law, and earned two Emmys for her performance in The Good Wife.
In 2015, Margulies was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she made TIME magazine’s list of “Top 100 Most Influential People in the World.”
She’s married to New York attorney, Kenneth Lieberthal, and they have a son named Kieran.
Sherry Stringfield (Susan Lewis)
Stringfield made her return to TV drama with a role in Under the Dome and later in Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
She had a voiceover role in the children’s show Blue’s Clues and featured in the U.S Got Milk? advertising campaign.
Stringfield has a daughter (Phoebe) and a son (Milo), but she divorced her journalist husband in 2006.
Noah Wyle (John Carter)
Wyle embraced the supernatural after leaving ER, starring in Falling Skies and The Librarians.
In 2001, he was named one of the “50 Most Beautiful People” in People magazine, and he also made the list of “TV’s Sexiest Men” in 2011.
Wyle’s an Artistic Producer at Hollywood’s Blank Theatre Company, and has produced several stage productions.
He’s heavily involved with the non-profit organisation, Doctors of the World, and is a spokesperson for World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
Wyle has a son (Owen) to his first wife Tracy Warbin, and a daughter (Frances) to his current wife Sara Wells.
Eriq La Salle (Peter Benton)
La Selle reunited with his ER co-star, Sherry Stringfiled in the 2015 sci-fi series Under the Dome. More recently, he landed in a role in the popular X-Men film, Logan.
Making the move behind the camera, La Salle has directed episodes of Soul Food, The Twilight Zone, CSI, Lucifer and Murder in the First.
La Salle is very protective of his personal life, his dating history is something of a mystery, and he has no known spouses or children.
Ming-Na Wen (Jing-Mei Chen)
Chen’s work following ER was mostly in the realm of children’s entertainment. Her voice featured in the Disney classic Mulan, and other animated shows including Phineas and Ferb and Adventure Time.
She currently has a starring role as Melinda May in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Chen’s been married for 23 years, and has two children. Her daughter, Michaela, is following in her mother’s footsteps, as a voice actor in the Disney channel show, Sofia the First.
George Clooney (Doug Ross)
This one needs no explanation. Clooney made the transition from television to movies, and is now one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood.
Some of his most memorable roles include the 1997 version of Batman & Robin, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Gravity with Sandra Bullock, and the Ocean’s trilogy.
He’s won two Academy Awards and two Golden Globes, for his work in front of the camera as well as behind it.
Clooney is married to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, and is the proud father of 1-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.
