Mark Strong's new mission
Deep State’s man of the moment, in his most complex role yet.
Mark Strong plays former intelligence agent Max Easton, in TVNZ OnDemand’s brand new drama, Deep State.
You probably recognise him for his work in Hollywood blockbusters like Stardust, Sherlock Holmes, Kick-Ass and Kingsman (just to name a few).
GQ magazine named him “the go-to actor for British villains.”
He’s mastered the personification of evil, but in Deep State, Strong’s about to prove that he isn’t a one-trick-pony.
In this high-stakes new drama, he plays the complicated hero, multi-layered and unpredictable.
Max Easton is a retired spy, who turned his back on the MI6, in favour of a quiet country life...
But when his past comes back to haunt him, he abandons his new family and begins a dangerous quest for revenge.
He’s a man caught between two versions of himself.
For Strong, taking on the role was a no-brainer. The unique combination of action, mystery and family life was irresistible.
“Every now and then a script comes along that you just can’t put down,” he says. “Deep State is exactly that – a great example of the best kind of writing.”
See Mark Strong in action when Deep State premieres, Friday 6 April, same day as the U.K on TVNZ OnDemand.
