Cameron Black is a superstar magician who performs impossible feats with his own signature style in live, televised specials.

But when his career is ruined by a scandal, which you get to see play out in the first moments of the series, he can no longer perform the illusions he has spent his life creating.

So Cameron discovers a new way to use his art of deception, misdirection and illusion – helping the FBI catch the world’s most elusive criminals.

He joins forces with FBI agents Kay Daniels (Ilfenesh Hadera) and Mike Alvarez (Amaury Nolasco).

Mike is a big fan of Cameron’s and is a much more willing partner than Kay.

Cameron also brings along his magic crew, Dina (Lenora Crichlow), Jordan (Justin Chon) and Gunter, played in typical ‘shouty’ fashion by footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones.

English star Jack Cutmore-Scott had to learn the sleight of hand needed to play self-assured illusionist Cameron, taking direction from the show’s magician and consultant David Kwong (Now You See Me).

“I’ve become really annoying at drinks and parties and stuff,” Cutmore-Scott has said of his new skills.

“You think it must be easy to do. It’s not. There are hours and hours of work that go into thinking of and making these amazing tricks.”

If you are a fan of shows like Castle and The Mentalist, Deception will be your new obsession!
