  • Meet the Semi-Finalists

    Britain's Got Talent 2017 has seen some of the most impressive acts the show has ever had, and now a select number are on their way to the semi-finals! Get to know some of the incredible talents that will be leaving their fate in the hands of viewers. 

    Tokio Myers

    Tokio is a 32 year old pianist from London. He grew up on a rough estate and started playing piano when he was nine and now wants to inspire young kids from rougher areas to follow their dreams. Tokio impressed the audience and judges alike with Simon saying, “It was really dramatic and cool”, and David adding, “You had us from the first moment”. 

    Ned Woodman

    Ned is an eight year-old primary school boy from Maidstone, Kent. Ned loves making people laugh and has been performing comedy routines since he was six years-old. He shocked the judges with his ‘savage’ jokes about them but had them all in fits of laughter. Alesha said, “Very well done” and Simon added, “You look nice and sweet, but you are very cheeky!” 

    Martin and Faye

    Martin (45) and Faye (10) are a father and daughter singing duo from Cheshire. Martin is a full-time performer while Faye started signing just over a year ago. They have been performing together for the past 10 months after always singing in the car. David said their performance of ‘The Prayer’ was, “beautiful.” 

    London School of Bollywood

    London School of Bollywood are a dance group from London made up of students and working professionals, aged 18-26, who are all passionate about Bollywood and its culture. Their goal is to spread their positive message of diversity to a bigger audience. The judges loved their performance and praised them for the originality and for their message. David said, “This was beautiful, well done.” 

    Josephine Lee

    Josephine is a 29 year old magician and yoga instructor from London. She’s been involved in magic since she was 18 after landing the role as a magician’s assistant. Josephine has been performing as a lead illusionist for just over a year and entered Britain’s Got Talent to represent women in the magic industry. Josephine’s audition left the judges stunned with Alesha saying, “it blew me away, fantastic!” 

    Jay Wynn

    Jay is a 36 year-old support worker from Gloucestershire, where he lives with his girlfriend and his dog. Jay spends his spare time creating costumes and making music and decided to combine his two passions for his audition by performing A-ha’s ‘Take On Me’ in a 10ft robot costume. David said he was, “the best singing Robot” 

    David Geaney

    David is a 22 year-old student and tap dancer from Dingle, Ireland. He started dancing when he was five years old and has entered a number of competitions, winning five World Championships. He no longer competes as he wants to put together his own routines and share them with the world. The judges loved his performance and praised his creativity and originality. Alesha said, “You are amazing, you dance brilliantly!”

    Sarah Ikumu

    Sarah is a 16 year old student from Milton Keynes who dreams of becoming a full-time singer. Sarah wowed the judges with her incredible and powerful performance of Jennifer Hudson’s,

    ‘And I Am Telling You’. “You are incredible for someone of your age on this stage and you nailed the song”, said Simon after he pressed the first golden buzzer of the series.

    Grace and Ali

    Grace (17) from Middlesbrough and Ali (16) from Hartlepool are a contemporary modern dance couple. They met and fell in love at Performance Art College where they had to do a dance duet in

    one of their shows. The judges were moved by their routine which they choreographed themselves with Amanda telling them, “It was absolutely gorgeous to watch. You’re so stunning together.”

    Matt Edwards

    Matt is a 34 year old comedy magician from Suffolk. He’s been performing since he was five years old after his dad bought him a magic trick from a shop in Covent Garden. Matt hopes that Britain’s Got Talent will give him his big break and he will one day be able to open his own magic school. He impressed the judges with his tequila inspired magic trick. Ant said, “We were laughing so much, I thought I was gonna pee myself. Really funny”, while Dec added “We loved the act. He’s 34 years old and for some reason he hasn’t been given the break up until now, so we just wanted to be there and do it.”

    Destiny Chukunyere

    Destiny is 14 year-old school girl from Malta. She started singing four years ago at a school concert and has been encouraged to carry on ever since by family and friends. Destiny entered and won Junior Eurovision in 2015 and hopes to have a worldwide singing career. Destiny fulfilled her dream of performing in front of Simon Cowell as she took to the BGT stage to perform Aretha Franklin’s ‘Think’.

    Dizzy Twilight

    Christine Tew aka Dizzy Twilight is a 65 year old retired registrar and nurse from Wiltshire where she lives with her husband Malcolm. They have been happily married for 44 years. Christine has always had a love for music and she has been doing her act since retiring five years ago. She completely surprised the judges when she began performing her DJ set and had them all up on their feet and dancing. 

    Harry Gardner

    Harry is a 16 year old student and singer from Essex who has been singing, writing songs and playing the piano since he was eight years old. He performed his original song ‘Not Alone’ which he wrote after his grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after Harry’s emotional performance with Amanda telling him, “Harry that really moved me. I felt the lyrics. I felt your soul”.

    Issy Simpson

    Issy is an eight year old school girl from Blackpool, where she lives with her parents and younger brother. Issy loves Harry Potter, especially Hermione Granger, and her magic trick put a spell on the judges. Simon said, “This is real life Harry Potter. I don’t know how you do it. You have magical powers”. 

    Leah Barniville

    Leah is 14 year-old school girl from Ireland where she lives with her parents and little brother. She started singing when she was five years old and began having lessons three years ago which is when she started singing classical music. The judges were blown away with her rendition of ‘Caruso’ by Lucio Dallas. 

    St Patrick's Junior Choir Drumgreenagh

    Hailing from County Down, Northern Ireland, this adorable 36-strong group of 8 to 12 year olds impressed the judges in their audition with an emotional cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know.' Alesha commended the group saying "you all sang with passion, the song is beautiful."

    PC Dan

    Dan is a police officer with rhythm! The 33 year old Kingston Policeman has been a huge fan of dancing from a young age, attending the BRIT school before he joined the force. He surprised the judges in his audition when we showed up in his uniform, but absolutely got the crowd pumped!

    Niels Harder

    After falling in love with magic at a young age, Niels has been practising the craft ever since. His out of the box audition was enough to make Alesha say "you are bonkers! Nuts! Your stage presence is fantastic."

    Kyle Tomilson

    Kyle's stand out audition this year wasn't in fact his first. It was revealed that he tried out three years ago but was told by David to go work on his voice with a coach before trying out again. Thanks to a lot of hard work and dreaming big, Kyle came back stronger than ever, impressing the judges and the crowd. Before pressing that highly coveted golden buzzer, David commented, "a really moving performance. I am glad you came back and proved me wrong."

    Empire Dance Crew

    Made up of 17 members aged 15 to 25, Empire Dance Crew is led by Rycardo Gomez, who spent three years touring with the biggest girl group on the planet, Little Mix. Their dream to be the next big British dance crew is well within reach now that they impressed the BTG judges, making it through to the semi-finals. David described the group's audition as "an explosion of energy."

    DNA

    Andrew (43) from London and Darren (29) from Essex aren't your average magicians. This double act of mind readers have been performing together for four years, and their mystical audition left Simon and Amanda absolutely gobsmacked. 

    Tyrone and Mina

    After Tyrone (35) and Mina (35) met and fell in love while working on a cruise ship, the "seductively dangerous" pair decided to combine their respective talents of tango dancing and knife throwing. It was the explosive combo that sent them straight to the semi finals after gaining four yeses. 

    Miss Treat Vibe

    Lavelle (22) from Sheffield, Jeanette (24) from South London, Moesha (19) from Swindon and Bambi (22) from Birmingham brought their incredible voices together to create girl group Miss Treat Vibe, and now they're on their way to the BTG semi-finals. Their rendition of Salt N'Pepa's 'Whatta Man' absolutely blew the audience away, and Simon in particular is a huge fan saying "you might be the greatest girl band we have ever seen on the show."
