The faces of Bite Club
They're not just small-town Aussies.
The new crime thriller, Bite Club, has a star-studded Australian cast. Here's where you might recognise them from.
Ricardo appeared briefly in Home and Away in the 80s, but rose to fame in her role as Kerry in Offspring.
She also appeared briefly in Packed to the Rafters, and Taika Waititi’s Thor: Rangnarok.
In Bite Club, Ricardo plays Detective Senior Constable Zoe Rawlings.
Rawlings is strong-willed, dedicated to the job, and believes in doing things by the book.
Lasance got his big break in the hit U.S. show Spartacus: War of the Damned.
He also appeared on the big screen, alongside Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson in Fool’s Gold.
In Bite Club, Lasance works alongside Rawlings, as Detective Constable Dan Cooper.
After three years of leave, Cooper returns to the force physically fit, quick-witted and intuitive.
Monaghan is well known for his role as Merry the hobbit in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
He starred in the hit sci-fi drama Lost, and played a mutant named Bolt in X-Men: Wolverine.
Monaghan also fronts the reality series Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan, in which he travels to remote corners of the world in search of exotic animals.
Monaghan plays Police Senior Constable Stephen Langley in Bite Club.
Langley works primarily in the Dog Squad, and is considered one of the unit’s best operators.
Until recently, Miller was known as Constable Kat Chapman, in Australia’s most popular soap opera Home and Away.
She’s also had guest roles in Neighbours, Wonderland and East West 101.
Miller is an ambassador for global hair brand GHD, and fronted the Australian campaign for Gillette VENUS.
The Chilean-born beauty plays Kate Summers in Bite Club, Rawlings' flatmate and closest friend.
Kate’s a trained emergency nurse, and a great listener.
Mailman is one of Australia’s most highly-respected actors, having been in the industry for over 20 years.
Her TV credits include The Secret Life of Us, Offspring, Cleverman and Black Comedy.
She’s also appeared in feature films Rabbit Proof Fence, Wolf Creek and Tomorrow When the War Began.
Mailman plays Superintendent Anna Morton, captain of the Bite Club homicide squad.
Norton knows how to get things done without a fuss, and doesn’t stand for any nonsense in the workplace.
However, it soon becomes clear that she’s harbouring some personal demons…
Mammone has appeared in big blockbuster movies such as The Matrix trilogy, Russell Crowe’s The Water Diviner, The Condemned, Vertical Limit and The Great Raid.
Mammone is on the other side of the law in Bite Club, playing Detective Sergeant Jim Russo.
Russo works alongside Rawlings and Cooper in the homicide squad. He has a keen sense of humour, but knows when to take things seriously.
Walshe-Howling starred alongside Mammone in Underbelly, as Melbourne’s “most-loved murderer” Benji Veniamin.
He’s also appeared in The Secret Life of Us, Blue Heelers, Wilfred and Old School. He played a shark attack survivor in 2010 thriller film The Reef.
In Bite Club Walshe-Howling plays Doctor Kristof Olsen, a private psychologist who also consults for the police force.
Olsen has a sense of superiority, and sometimes his methods are a little unorthodox.
Bite Club premieres Thursday 16 August at 10.30pm, same day as Australia on TVNZ OnDemand.
