New year, new resolutions! Arie Luyendyk Jr was unlucky in love six years ago, but like many love-struck singles he's making 2018 the year he finds The One. The Bachelor season 22 streams same day as the US on OnDemand.

New Series: Blue Murder: Killer Cop

TUESDAY 2 JANUARY, 8:30PM

 

This two-part television miniseries is based on the true story of Australia's most notorious former detective, Roger Rogerson, and is sequel to the 1995 miniseries Blue Murder

Richard Roxburgh (Rake) reprises his role as Rogerson, struggling to make a living in a world that’s rapidly changing, caught between the pressures of criminals, police and a love that might save him. Also starring Toni Collette.

New Season: Eat Well For Less

THURSDAY 4 JANUARY, 7:30PM

Should you pay more to eat better? This series looks at whether it’s worth paying extra for premium brands, and gives fascinating and surprising myth-busting food facts.

Each week Chris and Gregg confront a family whose food bills have spiralled out of control and show them simple and effective ways to save a fortune on their shopping.

Queen of Comedy Miranda Hart will make history as the first woman to host The Royal Variety Performance 2017!

The event will come from the iconic London Palladium Theatre - hosting venue for the 41st time.

Celebrating 50 years of Billy Connolly’s exceptional career, this special TV tribute recognises Billy’s influence on those who have come in to his orbit.
The ‘me’ is Billy’s public, some of them famous faces (Andy Murray, Judi Dench etc) but most of them everyday people with extraordinary stories of how Billy’s humour has touched, and in some cases changed their lives.

New Series: Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby

WEDNESDAY 3 JANUARY, 8:30PM

Giles Coren and Monica Galetti go beyond the lobby to see the areas that the public never see and roll up their sleeves to work alongside staff.

Their extraordinary trips include visits to the Ice Hotel in Sweden, as well as the Giraffe Manor in Kenya where giraffes, staff and guests all co-exist.

Season Finale: The X Factor Finals Week

FRIDAY 5 & SATURDAY 6 JANUARY, 7PM

This year’s The X Factor comes to a close with Rak-Su, Grace Davies and Kevin Davy White all one step away from being crowned 2017’s The X Factor winner.

Expect an outstanding line-up of guest acts including The X Factor alumni Little Mix and Louis Tomlinson, as well as multi award winning Sam Smith; international singer songwriter, Pink; American boy band, PRETTYMUCH and DJ Pete Tong & The Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley featuring Becky Hill.

New Season: The X-Files

THURSDAY 4 JANUARY, 8:30PM

Thirteen years after its original run, The- X Files returned in 2016 with a thrilling new season.

In 2018, stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will re-inhabit their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, as they once again open up the “ X-Files” and investigate unexplained cases that involve paranormal phenomena.

Remember … The Truth Is Out There.

Special: When Magic Goes Horribly Wrong

THURSDAY 4 JANUARY, 7:30PM

What happens when magic tricks fail?

This 2 special features a compilation of illusions that went spectacularly badly, including several cases where magicians nearly died for their act.

Escapologist Spencer Horsmann nearly drowned three times performing his water tank act; while Canadian magician Dean Gunnarson was pronounced dead after being fished out of a river following a stunt; and Shahid Malik has suffered both serious burns and a 40-foot fall from illusions gone wrong.

Special: Monkeys Make You Laugh Out Loud

WEDNESDAY 3 JANUARY, 7:30PM

2's got monkey criminals, magic and mirrors, cheeky monkeys, monkey pals, banana loving primates, baby monkeys, monkeys vs cameras, monkeys out on the town, and monkeys acting like us humans.

Go behind the scenes to meet photographer David Slater who travelled to Indonesia to take pictures of the rare Celebes Crested Macaques, which resulted in the most famous selfie in the world and would bizarrely find David in hot water with an animal rights charity over who actually owned the copyright: David or the monkey.

MONDAY 1 JANUARY

NFL: New Year's Day has the final round before the playoffs start with Tennessee hosting Jacksonville at 7am and then the LA Chargers are up against Oakland at 10:25am.

The final match of the day at 2:30pm will be a playoff decider with the teams still to be confirmed.

Documentary: Locked In Boy

This informative, moving documentary follows Jonathan, an extraordinary, smart, funny, ten-year-old, who for the first eight years of his life was locked in his body - unable to speak or communicate.
