A Xiamen Airlines flight from Xiamen to Manila has crash landed at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport, skidding off the runway while landing in stormy conditions.
Flight tracking website Airlive reports that flight MF8667 circled for some time near the airport before attempting a landing, and aborting it.
The Boeing 737-800 then came in to land a second time, and after touching down appears to have skidded off the left side of the runway about 3.55am NZT (11.55pm local time).
In a picture from a local plane spotter, the plane appears to have one of the engines detached from the wing.
A Weibo user reportedly filmed the moment of touchdown and shared the video, according to ChinaAviationReview.
Data from tracking website FlightRadar24 confirms the plane circled for some time, then came in to land, with the final flight path appearing to veer off the runway.
Xiamen Airlines said 157 passengers on board and eight crew were safely evacuated from the plane after the crash and there are no reports of injuries.
