Watch: Melbourne driver lucky to escape after SUV flips multiple times after being rammed by car

October 26, 2017

A Melbourne man has handed police the front bumper bar and number plate of car that hit his SUV, flipping it over multiple times.

Bob Bentley says he escaped "just a bit sore" from the collision at an intersection in suburban Wantirna on Tuesday evening.

Dashcam vision from another car shows the dramatic crash as the other car comes out of a side street and ploughs into the SUV which flips right over before landing on its wheels and backing into a tree.

The other car continues the right hand turn it was making and takes off, leaving debris on the road.

"Ok anyone know who is missing a front bumper bar off their blue Ford or VE Commodore? I have it along with your number plate. Oh and so do the police," Mr Bentley posted on Facebook, along with the video.

"A big thankyou to all who helped me get out of the car and clean up the mess. The lovely girls in the ambulance and the police did a great job," he adds.

"A special thanks for the video and the young lady who was standing on the corner. I am ok just a bit sore. Drive safe out there."

Police confirmed to Nine News that the driver of the Ford Falcon involved fled the scene and they are investigating.
